Scentena publishes practical perfume-formulation guides to help readers understand the decisions behind a formula. This page explains who is responsible for that material, how it is checked, which sources take priority, and how corrections are handled.
Authorship and responsibility
Educational articles are published under the Scentena Editorial Team byline. That name refers to the people who maintain Scentena and its learning library; it is not a claim that an article has been certified by IFRA, a regulator, a laboratory, or a safety assessor. Scentena is responsible for deciding what is published on the site.
Software may assist with drafting, calculations, consistency checks, or editing. It is not treated as a source. A guide must still provide a defined purpose, practical application, visible limitations, and references a reader can inspect independently before publication.
How guides are prepared
A guide begins with a question that arises during formulation work: how to scale a concentrate, compare an EDT with an extrait, read an IFRA restriction, or evaluate an accord over time. The article is organised around the decisions and records needed to answer that question, rather than around search keywords.
Each guide includes a practical exercise designed to produce observations or a documented calculation. Exercises use controlled comparisons, explicit records, and small changes so the reader can learn from a result rather than merely follow a recipe. Published pages are rendered as ordinary HTML, remain readable without an account, and carry a publication or update date.
Sources and verification
First-party sources take priority for claims about standards, regulation, and product obligations. These include the current IFRA Standards and documentation, official regulator guidance, and the safety data, allergen statements, specifications, and IFRA certificates supplied for the exact material in use. A supplier document for one product is not assumed to apply to another product with a similar name.
Formulation observations such as odour, diffusion, or balance are presented as things to test under controlled conditions, not universal facts. Dates and links are reviewed when a guide is materially revised. Readers should always check the current source because standards, supplier products, product categories, and laws change.
Safety and scope
The Learn library is general educational information. It cannot identify the bottle on a reader’s bench, validate a supplier document, assess exposure, test stability, or determine every law that applies to a finished product. Scentena therefore uses “IFRA-aware” to describe an early screening workflow, never certification or a guarantee of compliance.
Readers remain responsible for material identity, suitable handling and working dilutions, current documentation, product-category calculations, safety assessment, testing, manufacturing controls, labelling, and market-specific requirements. The Terms of Service set out these limits in more detail.
Advertising and commercial independence
Advertising does not determine which guides are written, which materials are discussed, or what a guide concludes. Google AdSense is permitted only on individual Learn articles, after the article content, and never on the generator, builder, AI Lab, Learn index, authentication, account, billing, or policy pages. Advertising is labelled and is kept visually separate from editorial content.
A supplier or product mention is not an endorsement. If Scentena later publishes sponsored content or receives a material connection that could affect a recommendation, that relationship will be disclosed on the relevant page.
Corrections and feedback
If a guide contains an arithmetic error, broken source, unclear safety statement, or other material problem, send the page URL and the supporting detail to contact@scentena.com or use the contact page. Substantive corrections update the visible date; small spelling and formatting changes may not.
