- What is Scentena?
- Scentena is a perfume-formulation workspace for generating a starting formula from a brief, building with individual ingredients or accords, calculating percentages and gram weights, and exploring performance adjustments.
- Does Scentena guarantee IFRA compliance?
- No. Scentena provides IFRA-aware screening based on the material data available to the application. It is not certification or a substitute for current official IFRA Standards, supplier documents, a qualified safety assessment, or the laws in your market.
- Can I manufacture or sell an AI-generated formula as-is?
- You should not treat generated output as production-ready. Smell and revise it, confirm material identities and availability, check exact supplier documentation, calculate the intended finished product, complete stability and compatibility work, and obtain any required safety and regulatory review before manufacture or sale.
- Do I need an account to try the formula tools?
- No. You can explore the public generator, ingredient builder, and AI Lab without signing in. An account is needed for features such as saving formulas to a private library and managing a subscription.
- What is the difference between the Generator, Builder, and AI Lab?
- The Generator creates a structured starting formula from selected parameters. The Builder lets you choose specific materials and custom accords. The AI Lab focuses on briefs, presets, and goals such as longevity, projection, and balance.
- Are my saved formulas public?
- No. The formula library is tied to your authenticated account and is marked for search engines not to index. Review the Privacy Policy for how saved content and account information are handled.
- How do subscriptions work?
- The current Pricing page shows the available Free and Pro features. When billing is enabled, Stripe handles checkout and subscription management. You can manage or cancel an active subscription from Account settings.
- Does Scentena use my AI brief to train a public model?
- The application code sends an AI brief to the configured AI service only when you use that feature. Scentena does not make a promise here about a provider's independent processing; review the Privacy Policy and the relevant provider terms before submitting confidential information.
- Why do I see an advertising choice?
- If AdSense is configured, individual, manually curated Learn articles may contain a labelled ad after the publisher content. The script is excluded from tools, index pages, accounts, billing, authentication, and policies. Scentena asks before loading Google's advertising script. Declining does not prevent you from using the site, and you can reopen your choice from the footer.
- Where should a beginner start?
- Start with the Beginner's Guide, then learn how formula percentages and top, middle, and base notes work. Make small trials, keep careful records, use appropriate working dilutions, and study supplier safety documents before handling materials.
